I’ve been back in the US for just over a week now, and I’m finally making headway processing my photos (and my thoughts!) from our mother/daughter trip to Europe. I’m working on more detailed writeups, but for now I wanted to start sharing the awesomeness of our trip.

Our final itinerary was as follows (at times it felt as hectic as it looks, but the second half was pretty relaxing):
06/26/13: Fly from New York to Germany on an overnight flight
06/27/13: Land in Germany, take the train to Amsterdam, afternoon/evening sightseeing
06/28/13: Sightsee in Amsterdam, including Reijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, Flower Market, and Brouwerij ‘t IJ.
06/29/13: Train from Amsterdam to Brussels, see Mannekin Pis and each chocolate and waffles, Train from Brussels to Paris
06/30/13: Sightsee in Paris, visit Rodin Museum, Musee d’Orsay, Musee de l’Orangerie,
07/01/13: Visit Monet’s gardens at Giverny, see Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame
07/02/13: Fly from Paris to Venice, take water bus from airport
07/03/13: Sightsee in Venice, St. Mark’s Square, Bridge of Sighs, Rialto, eat TONS of gelato
07/04/13: Fly from Venice to Warsaw, sightsee in old Warsaw
07/05/13: Sightsee in Warsaw, train from Warsaw to Krakow (miserable train ride)
07/06/13: Sightsee in Krakow, side trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine
07/07/13: Sightsee in Krakow, side trip to Auschwitz/Berkenau
07/08/13: Train to Wroclaw, sightsee in Wroclaw
07/09/13: Fly from Wroclaw to Dortmund, train from Dortmund to Cologne, sightsee in Cologne
07/10/13: Sightsee/shop in Cologne, train to Düsseldorf
07/11/13: Sightsee/shop in Düsseldorf, fly back to the US!
